2. Some slight changes can do wonders for your system:

1.Press start->run then type ms config and press enter.

Go to the startup tab. Here you will see a list of startup items. These are all the programs that automatically start when you boot your PC. It is these that slow down the boot up process.

So uncheck all the unwanted items (like msoffice ,messengers other utilities that u may not need at startup).Dont uncheck your antivirus software.

Restart your Pc to and see for yourself, your pc will now boot faster....

2.A great new feature in Microsoft Windows XP is the ability to do a boot defragment. This places all boot files next to each other on the disk to allow for faster booting. By default this option is enabled, but on some systems it is not, so below is the information on how to turn it on:

Go to Start Menu and Click Run
Type in regedit then click ok
Find "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Dfrg\BootOpt imizeFunction"
Select "Enable" from the list on the right
Right on it and select "Modify"
Change the value to Y .
Reboot your Pc and see the change yourself.

There has been much talk of late about the supposed doomsday prediction of December 21, 2012 as reflected in the Mayan long calendar. Most of the ancient Mayan codices were burned by Spanish monks in 1521 as works of the devil. A few survived including the so called Dresden Codex. This 74 page codex written on tree bark and apparently from the famous Mayan temple and observatory at Chichen Itza was sent by Cortes to Emperor Charles V in 1519. Somehow it found its way to the Royal Library at the Court of Saxony in Dresden where it was purchased from a private collector by Johann Christian Goetze. While it was damaged by the fire bombing of Dresden during WWII, much has survived.From this work, which was written between 1200 and 1250 AD, numerous astronomical and calendar data points were found including information on eclipses, the transit of the planet Venus as well as information on the motion of the moon, stars and the sun. It has been determined by research scholars that the Mayan long count calendar ends on 13.0.0.0.0 which equates to our date of December 21, 2012 at 10AM GMT. On that day it has been surmised the end will come.
According to my research, many have tried to tie this upcoming apocalyptic winter solstice day with a solar shift, solar storms, and a transit of Venus as well as with severe earthquakes. Is there any truth to these allegations? According to some astronomers, on this day our solar system will intersect with the Galactic Equator which only happens every 26,000 years. Since the Mayan calendar began in 3114 BC, they had never experienced anything like this before. The Mayans called this event the Sacred Tree. This alignment with the center of the galaxy also allows for maximum mass and thus maximum gravity.
According to the National Earthquake Information Service of the US Geological Survey, earthquakes have gradually increased from 1 severe quake between 1890 and 1899 to 765 from 2000-2004. Could this be due to our solar systems movement towards this Galactic Equator?
NASA predicts that a terrific solar storm will hit the earth in 2012 which will be 30-50 percent greater than anything before it. I believe that there has been global warming over the past decades but it is related to sunspot activity on the sun not carbon dioxide emissions. The sun has gotten hotter and that has affected the earth. A massive solar blast from the sun in 2012 could burn up the earth as could a collision with an asteroid or a comet.There has even been talk of a polar shift which could disrupt the functioning of the entire earth and could change the axis of rotation. Such a shift has taken place in our geologic past and could happen again. If it happened on December, 21, 2012, it would truly be a day to remember.This apocalyptic date of December 21, 2012 is also supposedly found in Hopi myths, the I-Ching, Aztec writings, Egyptian hieroglyphs, Roman Oracles, writing of Seneca Elders, the chief Shaman of the Cherokee Tribe in NC, and even the writings of Nostradamus, The Russian mathematician Sergey Smelyakov of Khartov University taking the constant Phi (1.6180339), the so called Golden Mean or the Fibonacci sequence, and applying it to solar activity and planetary orbits, found that everything seemed to spiral in on itself on December 21, 2012 implying a time implosion or point of bifurcation.The planet Venus is set to make a transit across the face of the sun on December 21, 2012 which happens very infrequently. It did happen recently, however, on June 8, 2004 which means it will happen again in eight years which is very unusual but predicted by the Mayans.I cannot tell you for certain that the earth will be consumed by fire in 2012 or that there will be a polar shift or severe earthquakes, but I can tell you with certainty that one day in the not too distant future it will be consumed by fire and experience a polar shift and severe earthquakes. I can say that because the word of God says so and it did beginning over 2700 years ago, long before the Mayans or the Aztecs or the Hopi or the Seneca or the I-Ching or Nostradamus.Once before because of its sin the earth was destroyed by water in the Great Flood of Noah's day but the Bible says that the world will be destroyed again, this time by fire.

After being expelled from Poway High School, Tom DeLonge attended Rancho Bernardo High School where he became friends with Anne Hoppus. DeLonge often expressed wanting to be in a band, so in August 1992 Anne introduced him to her brother Mark Hoppus, who also wanted to be in a band.[12] The two played for hours in DeLonge's garage, showing each other songs they had previously written, and writing new songs together. One of these songs would eventually become what is now "Carousel".[13] That night the two decided they needed to officially start a band, so DeLonge recruited friend Scott Raynor, who he had met at his school's Battle of the Bands competition. The three began playing together and called themselves Duck Tape, until DeLonge thought of the name Blink.[13]The band practiced constantly, which angered Hoppus's girlfriend.[13] She told him he had to choose between the band and her, so he left the band just as it was starting. DeLonge then informed Hoppus that he borrowed a 4-track from a friend and he and Raynor were using it to make a demo tape. Upon hearing this, Hoppus decided he would leave his girlfriend and return to the band.In May 1993, the band recorded their first demo tape Flyswatter in Raynor's bedroom. A 4-track was used to record the material, which resulted in poor sound quality. According to Hoppus, only a small number of demos were released, primarily to their family and friends. The same year, the band recorded another demo tape, this one untitled and known simply as Demo #2. It featured re-recordings of a few Flyswatter songs, and also included new songs, some of which would go on to be re-recorded and re-released on the band's albums Buddha, Cheshire Cat, and Dude Ranch. Buddha was released on cassette in 1993 with around 1,000 copies of the tape produced by Filter Records, an independent record company headed by Hoppus's boss. It was remastered and re-released on Kung Fu Records in 1998 (with three of the original tracks omitted and two new tracks added).In 1994, the band signed with Cargo Music and recorded their debut studio album Cheshire Cat in three days. The album contained a number of updated versions of songs such as "Carousel", "Strings", "Sometimes", and "T.V." that had appeared on the Buddha demo as well as some originals. "M+M's" and "Wasting Time" were released as singles, but both failed to chart. Shortly after the release of Cheshire Cat, the band was threatened with legal action by an Irish pop band of the same name. In order to avoid a legal dispute, the band appended "182" to the end of their name.After the release of Cheshire Cat, Blink-182 released Buddha Promo, a promotional cassette intended to prompt the release of Buddha, which would become available on CD as well as cassette. In 1994, the band released a split EP with Iconoclasts titled Short Bus. The 3-track EP They Came to Conquer... Uranus was released the next year.

1.  Microsoft reserves 20% of your available bandwidth for their own purposes like Windows Updates and interrogating your PC etc

You can get it back:

Click Start then Run and type "gpedit.msc" without quotes.This opens the group policy editor. Then go to:
Local Computer Policy
then Computer Configuration
then Administrative Templates then Network then QOS Packet Scheduler and then to Limit Reservable Bandwidth.

Double click on Limit Reservable bandwidth. It will say it is not configured, but the truth is under the 'Explain' tab i.e."By default, the Packet Scheduler limits the system to 20 percent of the bandwidth of a connection, but you can use this setting to override the default."
So the trick is to ENABLE reservable bandwidth, then set it to ZERO. This will allow the     system to reserve nothing, rather than the default 20%.It works on Win 2000 as well.

Japanese (China, 1937), the first American serviceman killed was killed

by the Russians (Finland 1940), the highest ranking American killed was

LtGen. Lesley McNair, killed by the US Army Air Corps. So much for the

2. The youngest US serviceman was 12 year old Calvin Graham, USN. He

was wounded in combat and given a Dishonorable Discharge for lying about

his age. (His benefits were later restored by act of Congress)



3. At the time of Pearl Harbor the top US Navy command was called

CINCUS (pronounced "sink us"), the shoulder patch of the US Army's

45th. Infantry division was the Swastika, and Hitler's private train

Sometimes things happen to you that may seem horrible, painful, and unfair at first, but in reflection you find that without overcoming those obstacles you would have never realized your potential, strength, willpower, or heart.Illness, injury, love, lost moments of true greatness, and sheer stupidity all occur to test the limits of your soul. You've been invited to your high school class reunion. That's exciting! Then, why are you getting butterflies in your stomach when you think about it? You may even be hesitating, wondering if you should attend. Don't be so quick to dismiss that invite. You might just miss something really wonderful. Here are three easy ways to alleviate the stress and have a great time at your reunion party.
1. Realize you're not the only one who's nervous. If your school is typical, only 20 - 30 percent of your classmates will attend your reunion party. Of course, some have legitimate reasons for not being there. But a lot of people simply get cold feet. The results of a survey conducted by Roper Starch Worldwide (1991) indicated that only 22 percent of adults expect that attending a class reunion would be a "good time". The rest are viewing that invitation with a bit of anxiety or even dread. Just about everyone is uneasy about facing their old high school class. But, knowing that the people at the party will be in the same boat and probably feeling as nervous as you, helps level the playing field.
2. Decode your anxiety. If you figure out exactly why you're nervous, it can help you deal with it. When you visualize getting together with former classmates, what are you afraid might happen? Do you think they will judge you for not measuring up to some standard of beauty or success? If you zero in on the cause of your apprehension, you can start to work on it.
3. Be realistic. You're not perfect. Neither is anyone else. Everyone is getting older. At the reunion party, there will be classmates that have lost their hair, gone grey, put on weight, gone through a divorce, lost their job, made bad decisions or are hurting financially. And they will be nervous that you're going to judge them. Sure, there will be one or two people there, looking unbelievably good and bragging about their fortune. But most of people at the reunion will normal, imperfect human beings that are hoping to reconnect with old friends and have a good time.

Never depend on a friendship with your boss to insure career success. Think of the relationship as a business deal on your career path. You have something to sell--your skills and knowledge. The boss is a buyer. The price paid is an investment by your employer that must earn a profit if the employer is to stay in business.
Bound by his own ambitions and the rules of the workplace, your boss can't carry out his assignment of supervising you on the basis of friendship. There comes a time when your boss has to say "no" when a friend would say "yes." If you think otherwise you are on the road to frustration and pain.Spend as little time as possible alone with your boss, because every minute one-on-one is an opportunity for him to probe, get too involved in your affairs. The more time together the more time there is for differences of opinion and conflict.It is also wise to avoid becoming attached on a personal basis with your fellow peers and subordinates. Personal relationships on the job will inevitably cloud and restrict your judgment and leeway for action.Just as your boss is not your friend, he is not your Father Confessor or your nanny. Keep your problems to yourself. To reveal them to your boss is to invite more problems. Your boss may see you as weak and fallible. He will correctly assume you have invited him into your personal life. Moreover, there is probably little he can do to help you deal with your off-the-job tribulations.It's common sense to realize that your boss has his own problems...personal and professional. Cut him a little slack when he's distracted and irritable. He may be worried about college tuition for his daughter; he may be waiting for a report from a medical examination or he may have had a fight with his spouse.It is a mistake to think that your boss is always right. Your boss is a human being with all the imperfections that humans possess. If you see him making a mistake it is your duty to help him realize his error and correct it. Help him to succeed. His success may earn him a promotion, creating an opening for you to move ahead toward your career goals.Remember he has a boss, too. He is carrying out his orders. That may explain some of the things he does with which you don't agree.Your boss may fail to compliment your good work. He could be focusing on other members of his team who are not performing up to expectations. (By the way, it's all right to call attention to your achievements.) Your boss may have consistently performed at such a high level that he assumes the quality of your work.You don't have to like your boss, but you do need to respect his authority

The whole point of a class reunion is to reunite, and you can't do that without your classmates. To ensure you find as many folks as practical before the class reunion, start locating classmates early, even perhaps a year before the event.


This will also help spread the word that a class reunion is being planned. You would like to make an accomplished list of everyone you are making a plan to find. Make a catalogue of classmates' names using the yearbook from your senior year. Another good reference, if you've a copy, is your graduation program, which should contain a list of everyone who graduated with you.

If you cannot find either a yearbook or a program, contact your school to determine whether the registrar or secretary can give you an inventory of your classmates. Start a spreadsheet so you can keep all the data you find on folks in one place. You may also use it later as a database for class reunion promotional mailings. After you enter all your classmates' names in your spreadsheet, fill in the contact information for the people with whom you have stayed in contact.

In this age of e-mail, it's faster to remain in contact with old mates, so start by getting in contact with any classmates in your e-mail notebook to ask them for their present contact information.
